I am AniB – an artist with Latvian roots, living in Germany since 1990. Today my works almost exclusively on paper. This more compact and calmer way of working fits not only my creative process but is also a response to health challenges. It suits my daily life and gives me the space to immerse myself fully in the subject. My works often come in small series and in changing styles – because for me art lives on curiosity, not repetition. I studied art and illustration in Riga; since the 1990s I have worked professionally – with exhibitions at home and abroad. I love creating characters with presence—beings that carry a small story within them. Sometimes quirky, sometimes quietly contemplative, often with a wink. Each of my works is a handmade original – painted with care, humor and heart. Perhaps one of them will speak to you.
