Important and iconic floor lamp “Polifemo”, model 12555, designed in 1956 by Angelo Lelii (1911–1979) for Arredoluce, Monza, a renowned manufacturer at the forefront of postwar Italian lighting. Polifemo represents one of Lelii's most recognizable designs. The extremely slender structure features a circular white marble base, a long light-toned stem, and metallic brass/bronze-toned detailing. A distinctive feature of the model is the swiveling central light unit, conceived as a large eye with the name Polifemo inserted inside a concentric ring structure. The system allows you to orient the light by changing the direction of illumination. At the top is the characteristic large flared diffuser, completing the lamp's vertical silhouette and producing indirect illumination. The lamp has dual illumination, controllable by the floor switch with two buttons. There are oxidations, scratches, specks, color variations and normal signs of use consistent with the object's age. On the upper diffuser there are marks and a small imperfection visible in the photographs. The lamp has been photographed lit and functioning. It retains wiring, plug and the characteristic floor switch. The central glass/plexiglass and a pin are missing. The object is offered in its current condition, without aggressive polishing, preserving the patina and the historical character of the piece. The photographs show in detail the lamp, the orientable light group, the diffuser, the base, the wiring and the conservation status and constitute an integral part of the description. Given the height and the object's particular structure, shipping will be carried out with particularly careful packaging and adequate protection. Shipping exclusively within Europe.
