Antique pair of bronze andirons / fire dogs – neoclassical style – ca. 1850-1900 Offered is a lovely and decorative pair of antique fire dogs (andirons/fire dogs), featuring a characteristic classical design. The fire dogs have a nicely turned, baluster-shaped construction with multiple profiled rings and an elegant, pointed finial. The design is clearly inspired by the neoclassical/Louis XVI tradition and fits excellently in a classical fireplace, country house interior, or antique setting. The pieces boast a beautiful, naturally developed patina with color variations and signs of use that suit their age. The combination of the decorative bronze upper part and the original cast-iron supports gives the pair an authentic and characterful appearance.
