Silver-plated metal pendant encapsulated, for better preservation, with bronze nummus under the reign of Emperor Valens (364-378 AD). Minted between 364-367 AD with mint at Cyzicus. It is mounted on a modern chain in the style of a 925 sterling silver necklace. Obverse; bust of Emperor Valens with pearl diadem, draped and with a military cuirass, looking to the right. Reverse; Inscription "GLORIA ROMANORVM" - The glory of the Romans - Emperor in military attire holding a labarum (imperial military standard) and with his right hand grabbing and dragging a bound captive. It ships with a legal declaration sheet. Customs costs outside the EU will be borne by the auction winner.
