Toutes les enchères / Ethnographie / Amber - Amber - Jupiter like Sphere XL Freeform - 10 cm - 10 cm
Beautiful Jupiter-pattern ball of Indonesian blue amber. 100% genuine amber. The blue photos you see were taken under a simple UV flashlight. Real amber turns blue under UV illumination. Blue amber (or blue amber) is the rarest and least common variant of amber in the world, which under UV light (such as sunlight) transforms from golden brown to an intensely fluorescent blue color. Natural phenomenon: Under artificial light or against a light background the stone appears yellow, honey-colored, or deep dark red. However, when exposed to UV radiation, the molecules (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons such as perylene) light up and a spectacular blue glow emerges. Origin: This type of fossil resin is millions of years old and is mainly derived from the extinct prehistoric tree species Hymenaea protera. Blue amber comes from the Miocene and Oligocene epochs, geological periods dating from about 15 to 40 million years ago.
