altro - Travel trunk

Antique travel chest or dowry chest. Structurally reinforced by bands and forged-iron corner pieces fixed with visible rivets, which not only protected the wood during transport but also served as a decorative and strengthening element. On the front there is an original central iron lock (hasp with keyhole, but lacking keys), typical of antique chests. On the sides are wrought-iron handles, useful for lifting and transporting. Dating from the early 20th century, handmade and rustic in craftsmanship (often used in rural or domestic settings to store linens or valuable objects). Made of solid local walnut that shows a warm, variegated tone, marked by time, natural wear, and the original patina.
