ALPINO, AESTHETIC SMOKED QUARTZ with GREEN CHLORITE...

From our selection of collectible minerals we offer an elegant Smoky Quartz crystal with Chlorite from Grimsel Pass, Uri Canton, Switzerland. Moreover, it is characterized by a well-developed prismatic termination, by a brunico-gray coloration typical of the smoky variety contrasted by the green patina of chlorite that covers part of the surface, and by good transparency of the crystal body that allows a glimpse of the interior, elements that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact. The brown-gray color of smoky quartz is due to color centers induced in the crystal lattice by traces of aluminum and exposure to natural radiation present in Alpine granitic rocks. Grimsel Pass, on the border between Swiss cantons, is one of the historic localities of the Alpine fissures, where quartz crystals formed in hydrothermal cavities within granite during the uplift of the Alps. Chlorite, a green phyllosilicate mineral, often forms in association with Alpine quartz as a product of alteration of ferromagnesian minerals. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the field of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with very rare exceptions always noted in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
