Condition: the work is in excellent condition. Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) is one of the indisputable masters of Art Nouveau and a fundamental figure in the history of decorative modern art. His instantly recognizable style, characterized by elegant female figures, flowing lines, ornamental halos, and rich botanical motifs, has become synonymous with fin-de-siècle Paris and the rise of graphic art as a consolidated discipline. This iconic Art Nouveau artwork is the “Job” color offset litho designed by Alphonse Mucha in 1896, created as an advertisement. The image shows an elegant muse with luxuriant, flowing hair and a cigarette, with the smoke elegantly winding around the letters of the JOB brand. The original work was produced by F. Champenois in Paris and is known for its distinctive olive greens, plums, and gold tones. Mucha’s works enjoy enduring international demand, with high prices for posters, lithographs, and decorative panels, appealing just as much to visual-art lovers, design enthusiasts, and interior stylists. From a market and collecting perspective, Mucha stands alongside other highly sought-after names in modern and decorative art, such as Gustav Klimt, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Egon Schiele, and Aubrey Beardsley, while also resonating with collectors of broader modern and contemporary icons such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Keith Haring, Banksy, and Jeff Koons. His work often appears in searches related to Art Nouveau interiors, vintage posters, luxury decor, Belle Époque aesthetics, the history of graphic design, and collectible prints.
