ABOUT THE ARTWORK “La Déclaration” captures a simple childhood gesture filled with tenderness, courage, and sincerity. A young boy kneels and offers a heart to a girl standing in front of him, turning an innocent declaration into a universal image of first emotions. The scene is immediately readable and deliberately direct: no grand gesture, just vulnerability, surprise, and affection. The intense red and orange background gives the artwork a vibrant, warm presence, while the precise stencil work keeps the two figures sharp and expressive. ABOUT THE ARTIST Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist with a strong and instantly recognizable visual identity. His signature technique — the hand-cut double-layer stencil — separates light and shadow into two distinct stencils, layered onto a spontaneous, hand-painted abstract background. The result: a sharp, iconic figure rising from a vibrant, textured chaos of color. To date, 450+ artworks sold in 10+ countries have found their way into private collections across France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, the UAE, and the US. He has performed live painting for major French institutions including Disneyland Paris, created large-scale murals for corporate headquarters, and exhibited in several French street art festivals. His work is currently shown at Galerie Spot 72 in Le Mans. His subjects move between mythology, pop culture icons, wildlife and emotionally charged scenes.
