Alex Katz (1927) - hand signiert - Mourlot Graphics New York 1970

Alex Katz *1927 Brooklyn/New York is an American painter. He is internationally regarded among the 100 most important contemporary artists. His work is associated with modern realism and Pop Art. A large part of his pictures are portraits, but he also created landscapes and architectural pictures. Rare artist poster Mourlot Graphics, New York 1970 signed by Alex Katz with a blue pen Color lithograph on handmade paper, with a watermark in the lower right corner 75 x 54 cm excellent condition, has never been framed - a very color‑fresh exemplar To my knowledge, Alex Katz signed the sheet during his exhibition at the Kestner Gesellschaft in Hanover in November 2011. The exhibit comes from a personal collection and will be stored in a dust- and light-protected manner in a special graphics cabinet. Shipping will be with insurance and tracking. The item will be carefully and protectedly packed to ensure it arrives in good condition. When purchasing outside the EU, customs duties may apply. Artist posters are posters designed by visual artists (in the traditional sense) mainly for self-promotion, to announce, for example, their exhibition in a museum or a gallery. The posters are usually printed and distributed in a predominantly small edition (typically about 100 – 200 copies). Posters signed by the artist themselves are very rare and offer collectors an ultimate investment with great potential for appreciation. Already well established in their own art sphere, dedicated posters museums emerged in the USA and Europe as early as the 1960s and 1970s, and large museums such as the Museum of Modern Art or the Guggenheim Museum in New York devoted themselves to exhibitions of pure artist posters, whose importance is also reflected in the poster catalogs of many great artists.
