The Knitting Lesson – Oil on Canvas A warmly observed domestic scene depicting an elderly woman guiding a young girl’s needlework, while another woman watches beside the fireplace. Rustic furniture, pottery and a hen in the foreground complete the intimate setting. The composition is possibly based on a work by Eugenio Zampighi, although the exact original has not been confirmed.
