The painting is an oil on canvas, a copy or old reproduction in a classical style, specifically of the famous work Saint Thomas of Villanueva Giving Alms painted by Bartolomé Esteban Murillo around 1668. Due to the characteristics of the support, the craquelure of the painting, and the gilded wooden frame, it is a workshop copy or a follower’s work (from the late 18th century or the 19th century) inspired by the original that is kept in the Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla.
