Afghan - Carpet - 268 cm - 85 cm - Baloutsch-Läufer

Dark red and a row of striking diamond medallions define this hand-knotted Baloutsch runner from Afghanistan. Dark contours and cream-colored details trace the geometric motifs. Side-attached motif halves complement the inner field and emphasize the uniform arrangement along the carpet’s center. Several borders with angled and diamond patterns enclose the area. The light lines create accents between the deep reds and browns. Additional cross-bands with larger geometric motifs adorn both short sides and give the Oriental rug a decorative finish. With its dimensions of 268 × 85 cm, this narrow wool rug is particularly suitable as a runner for longer corridors and hallways. It can also be nicely used beside the bed due to its elongated format. On light floors, the rich dark red stands out especially well. Warm wooden furniture and accessories in cream or brown pick up the pattern colors and complement the rug’s traditional character.
