A moment in pink - Gary Westall

A moment in pink by Gary Westall Painting 15.8 x 15.5 :: When painting these poppies I wanted to capture the moment when light brings colors to life. The pink of the petals touched me because it appears delicate and powerful at the same time. While working on the painting I felt as if I were getting very close to the subject as if the flower were opening up for a brief moment and revealing its tranquility. For me the interplay of light shadow and color was the essence of this painting: simple yet full of atmosphere. Signed lower right. Oil on cotton 40 x 40 cm. My special thanks go to Peter Nyssen Ltd. for allowing me to use his photo as a template. :: Type: Painting Medium: Oil Style: Impressionist Subject: Floral & Gardens Width: 15.8 Height: 15.5 Depth: 0.6 Weight: 1 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
