This work presents a female figure in a moment of deep concentration and retreat, captured through an expressive, energetic brushstroke, rich in matter. (1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a pastime, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated exceptional technical skill in oil painting, acrylics, and life drawing, foundations that would later shape her conceptual signature. Her early career unfolded amid Cuban cultural effervescence, actively participating in youth art salons and group exhibitions. Her work immediately began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions she earned numerous prizes and mentions. AMReyes’s work is distinguished by a visceral, imposing realism that grabs the eye at once. However, her proposition does not stop at mere photographic mimesis. On a rigorously worked anatomy or faces loaded with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or outfits laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity. This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way for her international projection. Over the past decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in: Spain: Where her conceptual language connects with European Expressionism. United States: Integrated into private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art. Belgium and Poland: Exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries. Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, a country where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from fast commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection.
