A German hand-forged 21.6k yellow gold and ancient Syrian rock crystal

A German hand-forged 21.6k yellow gold and ancient Syrian rock crystal bead necklace with an ancient Roman rock crystal head of a billy goat. Hand-forged necklace composed of interlinked ring-shaped links, with an S-hook clasp and safety catch. Interspersed at intervals are 26 irregular rock crystal beads, graduated in size. Suspended centrally from the golden horns is a finely carved and polished rock crystal goat’s head. Signed and dated “Skoluda 03” on the outside of one horn. Ram’s head 3.4 × 2.6 cm. Necklace length 73.0 cm. Total weight 107.66 g (gold weight 42.2 g). Wolfgang Skoluda, Hamburg 2003. The rock crystal beads Roman, 2nd century AC, the pendant Syria 1st century BC.
