A FRENCH GILT BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK late 19th Century, in the Louis XIV taste, the gilt dial with a repoussé foliate centre and white enamel cartouche numerals within an ovolo-cast bezel, with pierced steel hands and a twin train movement, the case with a gadrooned dome surmounted by a flaming urn with scrolled handles, the angles with scroll brackets above espagnolette busts in plumed headdresses terminating in volutes, the pierced front centred by a winged female term amid foliate scrolls, the shaped base cast with a shell and acanthus, on stepped block feet. 54cm high
