Braun was one of 29 individuals or teams selected to propose designs for the first issue of Euro banknotes. Braun's "Série No. 15" was ultimately rejected in favour of Robert Kalina's now-iconic designs, but his beautiful proposals encapsulate brilliantly the initial brief of "Through the Ages". 7 sheets, each with two front and back, hand-drawn designs, 10 Euros, featuring head of statue by Benedetto Antelami and interior of Königslutter Abbey, Germany 20 Euros, featuring portrait of statue of St. Florian from the Kefermarkt Altarpiece, Austria and Wells Cathedral, England 50 Euros, featuring portrait of a tailor by Giovanni Battista Moroni and Donato Bramante's Tempietto, Rome 100 Euros, featuring portrait by Jan de Bray and façade of Dreifaltigkeitskirche, Munich 200 Euros, featuring portrait of Monsieur de Pachtere by Edouard Agneesens and detail from Viennese staircase 500 Euros, portrait of Tony van Eyck and Lawn Tennis Club, Dublin wonderful original drawings, highlighting clearly Braun's excellent artistry, sold as seen (14 essays) Subject to 20% VAT on Buyer’s Premium.
