3rd (Prince of Wales’) Dragoon Guards, or 10th (Prices of Wales’ Own) Hussars, Senior Non Commissioned Officer’s Arm Badges. Very good and scarce examples (2) the first a Victorian hallmarked silver example with a large Prince of Wales plume of feathers above a coronet and two-part motto scroll ‘Ich Dien’, of hollow flat backed construction, with hallmarks to the front along the stem of the central feather, for Birmingham 1898, with maker’s marks ‘F & S Ltd.’ for Firmin and Sons, the reverse similarly hallmarked with three loop fixings and possibly the flush base of a fourth, now absent, to the centre; with a similar die-stamped white metal example, the reverse with two loop fixings, north and south, with its original backing cloth, very good condition (2) £140-£180.
