Toutes les enchères / Vins & Alcools / 2024 Benoit Lalanne "Les Noëls de Montbenault" - Loire - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

An emblematic cuvée from a domain on the rise! A guaranteed favorite! Based in Anjou, in the sought-after Noëls de Montbenault area, Benoît Lalanne signs chenin cuvées with a singular style. After a stint with Richard Leroy, the winemaker develops a confidential production, today spread over a planted area of 70 ares. The estate works rocky soils of volcanic origin and favors manual harvests. In the cellar, the grapes are pressed directly at a pneumatic press, then lightly clarified. Fermentation starts in tank before aging on lees. Wines ferment with their own yeasts and benefit from lees aging in Burgundy barrels, followed by a stint in stainless steel. Marketed as Vin de France, the cuvées Les Noëls de Montbenault and Les Quarts des Noëls express a dense, taut, and deeply mineral chenin. On the palate, opulence, energy, and salinity combine, while the nose recalls noble reduction, toasted sesame, warm bread, yellow fruits, and chalk. This rare production captivates with its concentration and persistence, often likened to the style of Richard Leroy. About the cuvée The cuvée Les Noëls de Montbenault is a vibrant homage to one of Anjou’s most mythical terroirs, made famous by Richard Leroy’s chenin wines. Although classified as Vin de France, it fully sits within the history of Anjou’s grand white wines, where chenin grows on slatey slopes. Here, manual harvests are carried out without botrytis. In the cellar, the fruit undergoes direct pressing in a pneumatic press, followed by a light settling for 24 hours. The alcoholic fermentation then naturally takes place in tanks before a direct aging on lees with the lees. Aging is carried out on lees in 228-liter Burgundy barrels for 12 months, followed by racking and blending. Finally, the cuvée is matured in bulk in stainless steel for six months. Bottling is done without filtration or sulfur. The cuvée reveals a pale luminous gold color. The nose recalls aromas of ripe pear, white flowers, toasted sesame, and candied citrus. On the palate, ample yet taut, it offers a chalky, saline texture. Delivery can be rescheduled in case of high heat upon request. Delivery to Europe, armored shipping. Intact bottle, kept in ideal conditions.
