CÔTES DU VIVARAIS LA SYRARE GALLETY (DOMAINE) 2019 The Domaine Gallety invites you to explore the Côtes du Vivarais with its Syrare cuvée. This red wine, from the Côtes du Vivarais appellation in the Rhône region, is an ode to Syrah. It offers an authentic tasting experience, revealing the richness and complexity of the Ardèche terroir. A wine to discover for lovers of expressive and elegant Syrah. Alain Gallety is one of those pioneering winemakers. Starting from nothing and elevating exceptional terroirs that had until now remained off the radar, that is the mission he has set for himself. And what a tour de force! Within a very large Côtes du Vivarais appellation, he now stands as an example. On soils that are mostly clay-limestone, the Ardèche estate manages to produce wonderfully balanced wines, based on Grenache and Syrah. The entire range shows exemplary quality, from its entry level to the sublime parcel-based cuvées. An essential estate in the Rhône Valley, to be discovered as soon as possible if you haven’t done so yet! Regarding the family history, Alain Gallety began his winemaking activity in 1974 with his father in the area that became the Côtes du Vivarais appellation in 1999. Today, he runs the 15 hectares of the estate with his son David-Alexandre in organic farming. Parcel selection, Syrare bears its name. Fruit of meticulous and rigorous work, this cuvée is a 100% Syrah whose yields are limited to allow the fruit to express its quintessence. They therefore run at 12-15 hl/ha. The berries macerate for 45 days and are then aged in new oak barrels for 2 years. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration. Opened one hour before tasting, it gradually develops intense aromas of dark fruits and spices. The wine is ample, fleshy, generous. The tannins soften with time. This wine is perfect with, of course, a nice piece of grilled meat and a homemade truffle-scented purée.
