Label information Wine name: Pietro Dal Cero Amarone della Valpolicella Vintage: 2019 Special edition: Seal "1939-2024 / 85 Years of Wines" Format: 75 cl (0.75 L) – Lot of 3 bottles in original wooden case OWCB Designation: Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG (Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin) Producer: Bottled by Azienda Agricola Ca' dei Frati di Dal Cero Pietro e Figli Viticoltori S.S. Agr. (Sirmione - Brescia, Lombardy, Italy) Grapes: Traditionally dried Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Croatina Alcohol by volume: 16% vol. Organoleptic sheet as follows Visual examination: Deep, intense ruby red, with granate reflections of great brilliance. Olfactory examination: Explosive, complex and elegant. Opens with pronounced notes of cherry jam, prunes, Amarone cherries in liqueur and dried plum, followed by refined hints of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted coffee, tobacco and sweet spices. Taste examination: On the palate it is powerful, warm and balsamic. The structure is imposing but supported by velvety tannins and by extraordinary mineral freshness that balances the alcoholic strength, giving an endless finish. Food pairings Great dishes of game and wildfowl (wild boar, roe deer) Braised and Amarone stews, pot-roasted beef Extra-aged cheeses (e.g. Parmigiano Reggiano over 36 months) and complex blue cheeses (spicy Gorgonzola) Also perfect as a calate or contemplative wine after a meal Serving Glass used: Large and capacious red-wine Balon-type glass. Serving temperature: 18 - 20 °C (it is recommended to decant at least 1-2 hours before serving). Curiosities about the cellars and producer A Tribute to the Origins: This wine represents the tribute that the children Igino, Gian Franco and Anna Maria wanted to dedicate to their father Pietro Dal Cero, founder of the modern winery and originally from Valpolicella (Luxinum/Tregnago), before the family moved to Sirmione on Lake Garda. Prolonged Refinement: Produced only in the best vintages from vineyards in the municipality of Tregnago, the Pietro Dal Cero Amarone undergoes a long drying process of the grapes for more than 4 months, followed by 24 months of aging in wooden casks and a long bottle resting period.
