An iconic first cru from Domaine Pattes Loup Le Chablis 1er cru Butteaux 2018 is one of the Domaine Pattes Loup’s flagship cuvées, led by Thomas Pico in Courgis. This premier cru comes from a terroir located north of Courgis, at the edge of the Chablis commune, on clay and marl soils of the Kimmeridgian, known for giving wines with marked mineralité and great tension. Produced from Chardonnay grown in organic farming (and according to biodynamics principles), this wine benefits from a long élevage, partly in barrels and foudres, before bottling without excessive filtration, to preserve all its complexity. Style and tasting profile In the glass, the Butteaux 2018 offers a pure, precise nose, with aromas of preserved lemon, yellow fruits, apricot, with iodiney, spicy nuances (cinnamon, coriander) and a touch of honey. On the palate, it is a taut, chiselled wine that combines Chablis freshness with a dense texture. The saline minerality is strongly present, supported by a long finish and a persistent, saliva-inducing aftertaste.
