1967 Jaguar E-Type Serie 1,5 4.2-liter OTC The car featured in the film Spies & Glistrup. Matching numbers and Jaguar Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Original and unrestored, with European specifications, SU carburettors and 265 hp. The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most iconic classic sports cars ever made. This example is a roadster, or OTS in Jaguar terminology – short for Open Two Seater. Being a so-called Series 1.5, it combines the sporting character of the Series 1 with a number of more comfort-oriented updates, including a fully synchronised gearbox and improved access to the cabin. The legendary straight-six engine, considered by many to be the right engine for an E-Type, has been bored out to 4.2 litres. This provides the car with increased torque and, together with the relatively high gearing, makes it both powerful and easy to drive. Design is an essential part of the E-Type's history. Enzo Ferrari is famously said to have described it as the most beautiful car in the world, and to this day the E-Type stands out with its long, well-proportioned and distinctive lines. This example is finished in the rare colour code Willow Green, complemented by matching greyish dark green leather. The almost-black wire wheels further emphasise the car's classic appearance. The car retains its matching numbers and comes with a Jaguar COA confirming that the colour is the same as the one in which the car was delivered from the factory in 1967. The only modification is an upgraded cooler of a later type with twin fans. The engine bay remains original, apart from modifications naturally associated with ongoing servicing and maintenance. The same applies to the cabin, where the original leather interior has been preserved. The car was delivered new to the USA in European specification, with European bumpers, no side marker lights and the full 265 hp. The gearbox, cylinders and pistons have been refurbished, and the car has recently passed its inspection. It is driving well, and the original Jaguar racing exhaust provides an evocative soundtrack that further complements the car’s sporting character. The car may be familiar to Danish film enthusiasts, having appeared in the 2013 film Spies & Glistrup, where it also featured prominently on the film's poster. It was used in scenes depicting the lives of Simon Spies and Mogens Glistrup, adding a notable chapter to its provenance. Having been carefully looked after throughout its life, the E-Type presents today in original condition, with its honest patina serving as a reminder of the car's history and use.
