Premium Gem 1917-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar Obverse Mintmark 1917-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Obverse Mintmark. MS-66 (NGC). This glorious premium quality Gem is as beautiful as it is pristine, showcasing a subtle champagne-gold iridescence that yields to brilliance as the coin rotates into direct lighting. Very sharply rendered, with copious mint luster and a soft matte-like texture in the fields. Not even magnified inspection exposes a noteworthy blemish, and the eye appeal is exceptional. The present piece represents superior quality for the issue as seen by NGC, at which service it is tied for finest certified. Many of the most advanced Walking Liberty half dollar sets would be enhanced by inclusion of this stunning condition rarity. Provenance: From the Mack C. Chase Collection. NGC Census: 4; 0 finer. The corresponding PCGS Population is 5/2 (MS-66+ finest). PCGS# 6570. NGC ID: 24PR. Click here for certification details from NGC.
