1913 Buffalo Nickel. Type II. JD-1. Rarity-1+. Proof-67 (PCGS). CAC.

1913 Buffalo Nickel. Type II. JD-1. Rarity-1+. Proof-67 (PCGS). CAC. Since the design change for the Buffalo nickel in 1913 concerned only the reverse, the Mint was able to economize and use the same obverse die for both the Type I and Type II Proofs of the year. The latter has a mintage of 1,514 pieces and, while most are extant (John W. Dannreuther, 2023, states 1,200 or more), precious few can match the quality or eye appeal of this stunning Superb Gem. With beautiful satin surfaces enhanced by delicate champagne-gold iridescence. PCGS# 3990. NGC ID: 278S. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
