1788 Connecticut Copper. Miller 11-G, W-4510. Rarity-2. Mailed Bust Left. AU-58+ (PCGS). CAC. Medium steel-brown with much golden brown in the fields and intricacies of the devices, these being the areas where the original mint red color was last to fade. Very well struck for a Connecticut and even for the variety, which comes well made like the present example. Devices are sharp and full, making this an ideal choice to represent the design in a colonial type or Guide Book set, or even to represent the variety in a high grade Miller number set. Superior to both the Ford and Perkins specimens, which cataloged as AU and Choice AU, respectively. A few minor marks of little visual note may be seen on both sides, but the overall visual appeal of this quite forceful and impressive. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection.
