À propos de l'objet

This is three groove .50-70 conversion carbine as US issued during the Indian Wars. Features round barrel, post front sight, Lawrence rear sight, saddle ring and bar, old pellet priming system intact, and walnut stocks. The left side of the stock is carved "G 2 Cav. O". CONDITION: All metal surfaces are a soft brown patina. Stocks are very good with lots of bruises and a piece missing on left side at tang, no visible DFC ribbon. Sharp legends. Rifling visible but dirty. A good used smooth example used on the frontiers of America. Accompanying this item is a magazine article that pictures this gun, listing it as a Model 1868 that was in the hands of the 2nd Cavalry G Company on the Montana frontier, and maybe at battle of Pryor's Creek against Lakota Sioux. Data sheet states this is built on 1869 scooped frame. A piece of US history that led to the expansion of the states after the devastating Civil War.
