Sioux Beaded Pipe Tobacco Bag c. 1870 RARE
Offered for sale in this lot is this exquisite beaded pipe tobacco bag from the Sioux Northern Plains Native American Indians and dating to circa 1870's. The bag features an Indian tanned hide construction with excellent traditional geometric beadwork pattern and long hand cut Indian tanned hide fringe. The bag is from the Sioux Indians of the Northern Plains tribes and displays wonderfully. Provenance: The pipe bag is from a large Historic Native American artifact and weapons collection in Clearmont, Wyoming and comes with a Historic Artifact Information sheet, similar to a Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate is from Jeb Taylor and Plains Indian Artifacts, the renowned artifact collector and authenticator. The Historic Artifact Information sheet is signed a sealed. The bag features all authentic early glass trade seed beads in sky blue, greasy yellow, red white hearts, and semi-transparent dark blue. The bag has been professionally restored and repaired to its original condition (the lower beadwork section that is double sided is on the original hide and has not been altered in any way). The top portion of the bag wad previously destroyed and has been modernly professionally restored to its original condition using Indian tanned hide and the original glass trade seed beads. Measures 6" wide and 19" long, 32" long with fringe. This originally came from a renowned Indian artifact collection in Helena, Montana.En savoir plus

Antique Solid Carved Hardwood Mortar & Pestle
Included for you in this lot is a hardwood mortar & pestle. Each piece is carved of a solid piece of hardwood. The pestle shows an unfinished, natural wood tone, while the mortar shows a gorgeous dark finish. Additionally, the mortar shows a tapered top, with a nice inset band across the middle. You are bidding on an Iroquois beaded bag, believed to be late 19th Century. The crafter used only four different bead colors: transparent, light blue transparent, gold transparent, and larger, tubular, dark green transparent beads. The crafter beaded the beads onto brown velvet and framed it with beige and brown ribbon. The pouch is trimmed in red around the body and lavender around the flaps. The inside is lined in cotton. The pouch is in good condition for its age, with no apparent bead loss. Some of the lavender trim around the flaps is a little worn.. The pouch measures about 7.5" x 7.5" (6" across at the mouth).En savoir plus

For your consideration in this lot is a hand carved wooden sculpture of Atlas - The Bearer of the Heavens. The piece is crafted of a solid piece of wood, and shows exceptional detail in the body, and rim of the bowl. The globe which Atlas is holding shows hand engraving, in a repeating geometric motif.
