after THOMAS GAINSBOROUGH (English 1727-1788) A GEORGE III PAINTED OAK AND WATERCOLOR WORK TABLE, 18TH/19TH CENTURY, in the Adam's brother's taste, the oval top inset with a verdaille and bleu motif watercolor on paper, at center an oval medallion painted with a lively scene of six children at play, three boys and three girls, resembling King George and Queen Charlotte's youngest children, within a wreath of oak leaves and acorns, surrounded by a scrolling tendril wreath issuing four bouquets, each with of a variety of flowers, within a gilt painted edge, the top lifting open over interior fabric lined storage, above a flat skirt with polychrome laurel garlands centering a lock, all raised on square, tapered legs, joined by an "X" form stretcher centering an oval shelf with a gilt edge and like laurel garland decoration.
