Rippon Boswell & Co. GmbH est une maison de vente aux enchères allemande spécialisée dans les tapis anciens et les textiles. La maison de ventes aux enchères a été fondée dans le sud de l'Angleterre, mais avec un changement de propriétaire en 1987, elle est devenue une société allemande et le siège a été transféré à l'emplacement actuel de Wiesbaden. Kurdish Rug A Kurdish rug with a strong Caucasian design influence. The midnight blue ground shows a hexagonal lattice of green leaves and polychrome cones enclosing abstract trees and small birds. A white-ground main border with a double vine of highly stylised birds. Soft wool, brilliant colours. Newly overcast sides, remains of the original kilim survive at the ends. Ghiordes A two-column niche carpet, its mihrab field densely filled with vines and its wide border area ornately decorated. This well-known type, many examples of which have survived, was produced in workshops in the West Anatolian towns of Ghiordes and Kula over a long period beginning no later than the 18th century, and exported throughout the Ottoman Empire and to Europe. On account of their elegant pastel shades and elaborate designs, Ghiordes and Kula niche carpets were especially popular pieces in the past, and could not be omitted from any major collection. Chinese Wall Hanging Embroidered in various techniques, this figured wall hanging, with designs in delicate shades of grey, beige and rose on a brown ground, depicts mythical Chinese creatures (the Qilin and phoenix) on a very large scale and in an expressive manner.
