A fine Victorian Sheraton revival West Indian satinwood demi lune commode, the semi-circular top above three panels, the central one disguising a cupboard door, painted with three ovals in the style of Angelica Kaufman with classical scenes of Venus and Cupid, all within inlaid pendant bellflowers, bows and cross-banding. An imposing kingwood commode by de Jeune, the original rouge marble top set upon the shaped base with three wide serpentine drawers, decorated throughout with cross-banding and chevron, herring-bone and quarter-veneers, richly applied with high-quality ormolu mounts comprising C-scrolls, acanthus leaves and scallop shells. A fine pair of Cary’s 18” floor standing library globes
The terrestrial with cartouche printed “Cary’s New Terrestrial Globe exhibiting the Tracks and Discoveries made by Captain Cook; Also those of Captain Vancouver on the North West Coast of america and M.De La Perouse, on the coast of Tartry, together with every other improvement collected from various Navigators & Travellers to the present time. London. Made and sold by J & W Cary, Strand, March 1st, 1816, with correction & editions to 1826”; the celestrial globe with cartouche printed “Cary’s New celestrial globe on which are laid down the whole of the stars nebulae &c, contained in the Astonomical works of the Revd. F. Wollaston F.R.S. De la Caille, Herschel, Hevelius Mayer, Flamsteed, Bradley &c. London: Made and sold by J.W. Cars, Strand, March 1816”; each sphere in brass meridian and horizon rings supported by four arms and a central mahogany column terminating in trepod feet joined by a stretcher centered by a compass, raised on casters. Each globe retains its original horizon papers and compasses. The original compass papers are also in place but we have put replacement papers over the top.En savoir plus

A 19th century Italian micro mosaic & specimen marble top centre table. The circular black marble top having a central inlaid miro mosaic roundel depicting St Peter's, surrounded by eight circular and oval Roman ruins vignettes with hexagonal bead malachite banding and with specimen marble and hard stone borders. The superb walnut and parcel gilt base having a frieze with carved alternating stars, rosettes and cartouches, raised on male term monopodia terminating in leaf capped feet all joined an ex shaped stretcher with central rosette.En savoir plus
