Circa 1950 Charles "Kid" Nichols Single Signed Baseball. He pitched 562 complete games during his fifteen seasons of Big League service, notching 361 victories to take seventh place in the career wins contest. Though the Kid belied his name by living to the ripe old age of eighty-three, his autograph remains an elusive prey for the modern collector, particularly in terms of single signed spheres. Here we present a fine representation of that coveted rarity, an ONL (Frick) ball autographed "Chas. A. 'Kid' Nichols" in bold blue fountain pen ink. The ink of the sweet spot signature appears to have bled minimally before a heavy application of shellac secured it firmly in place, but any minor concerns must be dismissed in light of the tremendous scarcity. In fact, not a single example appears within our comprehensive database of major auction results over the past dozen years. A once in a lifetime opportunity? Quite possibly. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
