In good condition, the mounting with scratching and nicking to the gold commensurate with moderate wear. The ruby is a richly saturated, medium-deep very slightly purplish red and highly crystalline with no eye-visible inclusions. Under 10x magnification, the following may be seen: several minor fingerprints (not prominently located); a small crystal under the table, but on the periphery; and one side of the girdle bears what appear to be small cavities. The 8 oval-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 4.30 carats are an intense yellow hue, SI clarity; the small round diamonds are an intense to vivid yellow hue and VS-SI clarity. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 44716-1 dated May 6, 2011 stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Together with a letter from AGL stating that the ruby exhibits "a vibrant red color and high degree of transparency that distinguishes a very fine Burmese ruby." Accompanied by Gübelin report no. 11055090 dated June 1, 2011 stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, and that the color of this ruby may also be called 'pigeon's blood' by members of the trade. Please note that the diamonds of yellow hue have not been tested for natural origin of color.
